Tribal Fusion & Saharan Blues

At the edge of the Sahara, near the final stretch of Morocco’s Draa River, lies the small town of Tagounite — a meeting point of tribal histories, languages, and rhythms. This is where Daraa Tribes began: as a collective of musicians from different ethnic and musical lineages, creating something that could only be born from shared earth and divergent heritage..

Their music is a deep-grooved blend of Saharan blues, Amazigh polyphony, trance-inducing rhythms, and street-level Moroccan funk. It’s ceremonial and raw. Unpolished in the best way. The kind of sound that rises from the desert floor and travels — slowly but surely — until it reaches people far beyond its origin..

Daraa Tribes’ sound is shaped by tradition, but never trapped in it. You’ll hear echoes of Gnawa ritual, Regadda percussion, Hassani poetry, and local wedding rhythms — but woven through with delay-drenched guitar lines, tight call-and-response vocals, and a drive that feels distinctly now..

It’s not fusion. It’s not folklore. It’s the sound of musicians who grew up inside these traditions, now speaking in their own voice.
